The Hooghly riverside , at the Millenium Park, is always an enjoyable place to be at in the evenings. And more so, when one wants to see the sunset across the river. With the rippling waters of the Hooghly providing a gentle flow, the age- ravished buildings of Howrah providing the backdrop on the other side of the river, and the golden rays of the setting sun sparkling colours on the water, it was a treat to click these steamers, gently ambling across, the merry crowds of 25th Dec enjoying every second of it.
On the other side, in the distance, far beyond the milling crowds, one could see the grand old lady of Calcutta, the Howrah Bridge- the sixth longest cantilever bridge in the world, and the busiest one in terms of footfalls.
This place is highly recommended for a leisurely stroll in the evenings.
